Welcome to Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker ("we", "our", or "us"). Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker is a personal expense tracking application that helps you manage and monitor your daily expenses and income — without involving any real banking or financial transactions.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application. By using Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Understand which features are most used to improve the app
Restore your data when you log in on a new device
Respond to support requests

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or marketing companies.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore Database and Firebase Authentication), which complies with industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest.

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth — we never store raw passwords
App Lock (biometric/PIN) data is stored locally on your device only
Notification preferences are stored locally on your device
Crash reports and analytics are stored on Firebase servers
Your expense data is tied to your account and accessible only by you

5. Third-Party Services

6. Notifications

Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker may send the following types of local notifications:

Daily Reminder — A daily notification reminding you to log your expenses. You can set the time and toggle this from Profile → Settings → Notifications.
Budget Alerts — A notification when your spending approaches or exceeds your set budget limit. You can enable/disable this per budget.

📱 All notifications are local — scheduled on your device and do not require an internet connection. No notification content is sent to our servers.

You can manage notification permissions from: Device Settings → Apps → Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker → Notifications.

7. Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to improve the app:

Crashlytics automatically collects crash reports when the app crashes unexpectedly. This includes error type, device model, OS version, and app version. Data is anonymous and used solely to fix bugs.
Analytics collects anonymous usage events such as "expense added", "budget created", "notification enabled". This helps us understand which features are most valuable.

We do not use analytics to track your personal spending data, and we do not sell insights to third parties.

🔕 Crash reporting and analytics are disabled in development builds — only production app users are included.

8. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

Access: View all your data inside the app at any time
Edit: Update your name and email from your profile settings
Delete: Delete individual expense or income entries anytime
Account Deletion: Contact us to permanently delete your account and all associated data
Notifications: Disable reminders from Profile → Settings → Notifications
Analytics Opt-out: Contact us to opt out of analytics collection

9. Children's Privacy

Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may notify you through the app.

Continued use of Luma: Expense & Budget Tracker after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
